The role

e-nano ROBOTICS is looking for a Workshop Manager & Production Engineer to take ownership of our London workshop and turn engineering designs into well-built, repeatable physical products.

This is a highly hands-on role. You will combine fabrication, assembly, practical problem solving and workshop leadership. You should be equally comfortable welding a bracket, setting up a CNC plasma job, checking an electrical assembly, improving a jig, organising the workshop and guiding a junior technician through a build.

The role sits between engineering and production. Engineers will own product design and technical requirements; you will help make sure those designs can be fabricated, assembled, tested and repeated reliably in the real workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operation, organisation and safety of the workshop.
• Coordinate fabrication, assembly, wiring, rework and prototype builds.
• Initially carry out hands-on production builds personally; as volumes grow, help plan workload and coordinate junior technicians and temporary support.
• Fabricate brackets, frames, enclosures, fixtures and prototype parts.
• Carry out practical fabrication and assembly, including welding, CNC cutting and sheet-metal work where needed and within your experience.
• Operate and maintain general workshop equipment and help define safe operating procedures.
• Work from CAD drawings, DXF files, fabrication drawings, wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Support mechanical and electrical assembly of robots, sensing products and electromechanical systems.
• Review build quality and make sure products are assembled consistently.
• Develop jigs, fixtures, assembly aids and simple production tooling.
• Improve build instructions, workshop documentation and repeatable processes.
• Organise kitting, WIP, tools, consumables and production areas.
