The role

e-nano ROBOTICS is looking for a Robotics Software Engineer to design, integrate and improve the software that enables autonomous robotic systems to operate reliably in real-world environments.

This is a practical engineering role spanning robotics software, controls, localisation, sensors, embedded integration and field testing. You will work directly with mobile robots and prototypes, turning requirements into reliable systems that can be deployed outside the lab.

You will work closely with mechanical, electronics, embedded and AI engineers and will be expected to take ownership of problems from debugging through to validated deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robotics software using ROS2.
• Integrate GNSS/RTK, IMUs, wheel encoders, LiDAR, cameras and other sensors.
• Develop and tune localisation, sensor-fusion and navigation systems.
• Implement and improve path planning, trajectory tracking and mobile-robot control.
• Work with Ackermann and differential-drive platforms.
• Develop interfaces to motor controllers, actuators, VESCs and embedded systems.
• Support SLAM, mapping and operation in GPS-degraded or mixed indoor/outdoor environments.
• Analyse logs and field data to identify localisation, controls and reliability issues.
• Build simulation and test workflows where useful, including tools such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim.
• Carry out workshop and field testing and turn prototype behaviour into repeatable performance.
• Produce clear documentation, test procedures and reusable software components.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electronics, embedded, AI and product disciplines.
